Reiki Healing and Animal Psychology for Pets and their owners

Reiki is a wonderful calming relaxing healing. When used on animals it is even better because our animal friends do not generally have as much neurotic hang ups as we do and they soak up the Energy like a sponge.

We also have a fully qualified animal psychologist to ensure the happiness of your pet and help with behavioural problems. We train most animals/pets and owners to recondition their animals, and stop bad behaviour, we deal with all animals, horses, cats, dog, birds, etc,

Reiki can work alongside animal psychology and is very successful in assisting the rehabilitation of your much loved pet. Reiki works to help heal the physical, emotional and spiritual aspect of humans and animals.

We also do Reiki Therapy on Pet owners, please phone for details.

McTimoney Care for Animals

Like people, animals suffer from back, neck, pelvic and musculoskeletal problems and they can benefit from McTimoney treatment.

The McTimoney technique aligns and balances the animal's musculoskeletal system. By manipulating any misaligned joints throughout the whole body, with special attention to the spine and pelvis, it helps both to restore and maintain health, soundness and performance.

McTimoney Animal Practitioners are trained to work closely with your vet to ensure that your animal receives the best and most appropriate care.

It is a non-invasive holistic treatment which works to realign and balance the animal's musculoskeletal system, restoring health and movement, soundness and performance. Most animals readily accept the treatment, and owners like it because no anaesthetic or drugs are needed.

Practitioners only use their hands for analysis and treatment, and have a very finely tuned sense of touch capable of detecting the smallest misalignment.

Aftercare usually involves rest and/or limited exercise for a few days. The animal may require several treatments, depending on the nature of its injury, and it is recommended that animals receive regular check-ups to help maintain optimum performance and health as a preventative measure.

Michele Walton
is a shamanic practitioner for animals.

She was in search of the truth and the horse's permission when she stepped onto the shamanic path. Here she learnt; by aligning with the wisdom of nature we find the deeper significance of our relationships with animals, this allows true communication and healing to take place.

THE NATURE OF ANIMAL HEALING
The Animal-Human Relationship is always a special one... When two hearts meet a relationship is formed, regardless of the species. The two hearts communicate silently from one soul to the other reflecting in the animal's mental, emotional and physical state a Whisper of The Self. Reflected back to us are true states of inner being.

Healing through Relationship - as One...
When one of our animal friends has an illness, or is showing symptoms we associate with behavioural problems we just might be missing a much more subtle level of communication that conveys their needs or concerns. Animals have to communicate at the level we can perceive - or their message is lost.
Animals live as an integral 'part of' their environment, but as humans we live, in most
situations, an increasingly un-natural existence. Our modern culture has lost its connection with nature and our relationship towards all-things in the natural world is questionable. Insights from our relationships with our animal friends can bring guidance for a return to balance and harmony which increases health and well-being. Disharmony can cause energy to be affected at the spiritual level, which left unresolved can manifest in the physical form.
Therefore, dealing with all aspects of your animal friend's being - that is the physical, mental, emotional and spiritual aspects of them - brings fuller understanding and wellness to all concerned and enhances all healing approaches.
I work with a system of spiritual healing called shamanism. Shamanism maximizes the human ability to heal in a gentle, non-invasive, yet powerful way. Typically, through experience, a shaman comes to know that all life, whether human, animal or plant, is woven together and connects through a single network of relationships. As a shamanic practitioner I explore animal health concerns individually with no pre-conceptions. The shamanic journey work undertaken recognises the individual animal, allowing the unique set of circumstances that surround them to be respected and unfold - this provides information for the purpose of healing.

CONSULTATIONS
Consultations with people and their animal friend are a source of growth and discovery for all concerned, and deepen the understanding between both beings in relationship.

SHAMANIC HEALING for Animals
Shamanic healing meets each individual animal's specific needs in order to optimise the healing of illness, disease or any imbalance the animal has that may present itself as a symptom associated with a behavioural problem.
The healing process takes place at the spiritual level and brings a return to wholeness. This has many beneficial effects at the mental, emotional and physical level.

GOODBYE MY FRIEND for now
'There is no death. Only a change of worlds' Chief Seattle
When the time has come for our animals friend to make their final journey in this life it can be a painful and often confusing experience for those left behind. To explore the subject of animal death from a spiritual perspective can provide insight and comfort - as well as guidance on difficult decisions. This leaves us in the knowledge that the choices we make, at this special time, are right for all concerned.
If you have an animal friend that has already made their final journey I can make sure they are where they need to be. On the other side of life we discover only life.

Complementary Therapies For Animals -

what do I need to know?

Reiki, muscle release therapy, chiropractors, shiatsu, acupressure, acupuncture, herbal remedies, colour therapy, radionics, iridology, homeopathy, massage, crystal healing, flower remedies, aromatherapy, kinesiology, and magnotherapy are just a few of the complementary therapies out there which we use on our animals. As a Nation we're using complementary therapies more and more and this trend is being followed in the care of our animals - so much so that many insurance companies now recognise this demand and include a section to cover complementary therapies as recommended by your vet.
Many of us are now looking for a more gentle, natural, non-invasive approach where the body is encouraged to use it's own natural healing abilities we were born with, which many therapies use, stimulating the body to create a reaction for the desired effect.
Matthew D Bauer, an American Acupuncturist  in his book the healing power of acupressure and acupuncture points out that with 'traditional' action medicine, the vet or GP uses drugs or surgery in the hope that the direct consequence of this action will improve the patient's problem and that any possible side effects will be as minimal as possible. Reaction medicine such as acupressure needs to get a reaction to the treatment for the body to heal itself. This is why you'll be advised in most treatments that you as the patient or your animal might seem to get worse before you or he/she gets better. This is referred to as a 'treatment reaction'.
It's not that one type of treatment is 'better' than another, it's simply that you may prefer to use complementary therapies for your pets or horses and may have found your horse or pets have responded well to them. I have personally found a mix of traditional veterinary care and complementary therapies sit alongside together well and compliment each other well.
When you consider the advances vets and GPs have made in being able to bring a dog, horse or cat back from the brink of death -as an owner you want the best and fastest results if something is dramatically as wrong as this and I would certainly advise someone to call a vet in these circumstances!

Complementary therapies give dramatic results when the problem has many symptoms from multiple causes - and by stimulating the body's own ability to heal one problem others can also be healed as a result of healing for a different problem.
There are two major differences in treating animals - one is that they are relying on us to make choices for them - unless you're in touch with an excellent animal communicator who can ask your pet what they think (who cannot diagnose as this is a vet's job) and the second is that the therapists you employ will advise you to discuss the therapy will your vet or to notify them that you are coming out to their animal.
The Veterinary Act of 1966 stipulates Veterinary Surgeon's must be consulted on any treatments for your animals other than those given by the owner.  The only exceptions to this are manipulative therapies such as Physiotherapy, Osteopathy and Chiropractic work where a vet has diagnosed the condition and decided that this treatment would be appropriate; animal behaviourism, unless medication is being used where permission must be obtained by the vet and faith healing as according to the RCVS Guide to Professional Conduct, faith healers have their own code of practice which indicates permission must be sought from a vet before healing is given. If in any doubt consult your vet as this is the safest thing to do to ensure you as an owner are also working within the law. This also ensures the therapist is made aware of any relevant case history for the condition.
So the question 'When should I phone the vet' only really has one answer - always! If you are looking to a therapist to treat your animals we will always advise you to discuss it with your veterinary surgeon and advise him or her that we are coming to see your animal.
If you are ever unsure you should consult your vet as he or she will be able to advise you on appropriate care for your animals. Complementary therapies and veterinary care sit well together. Simply ensure you keep your vet informed of any additional therapies you are trying with your animals and understand why you are asked to inform your vet by a therapist before they treat your horse or pets.
