Q. Does my dog Sunny and I have angels around us ( I have tried to talk to my angels with no luck) can you give me their names? We both have problems and need help.

A. Yes both you and Sunny will have angels around you, they will also be watching over both of you. Every animal and person has angels looking after them, though angels are not permitted to interfer unless they are asked. Angels will be listening to you when you talk to them and they will give you signs they have heard you, this is usually a white feather or a message in your dreams. I would suggest writing a wish list of all the things you want and need to make you happy. Address the wish list to 'Dear Angels' and do the list in order of importance and keep it simple as angels like things easy to understand. Angels do not always have a name will know, they may have a sound as a name, this is because angels are made up of pure loving energy and have no need of a name. If you did want to find out your guardian angels name and also Sunny's, then use a pendulum to establish YES and No then go through the alphabet or maybe a name will pop into your head. I can assure angels are listening and will help you in any way they can.

Q. We adopted Whisper from a rescue place about a year ago. We do not know any of her history as she was found lost wondering the streets. She is very gentle and so affectionate that we wonder why someone abandoned her. Do you think she misses her previous owner? I know her kidneys are failing and she won't be with me much longer so I want to keep her happy and be able to let her go when the time comes. What signs should I look for?

A. First of all animals do not think logically like we do, they adapt very easily to a kind and loving home., it is only the few who have been traumatised that take longer to settle. Dogs are intelligent and they will realise when a person is genuine and honest so Whisper will understand that you are her pack leader and keeping her safe with giving her love and comfort. It would be difficult to know what has happened to her previous owner. Because Whisper is affectionate it would be doubtful that anyone would have harmed her because if this had happened she would be more likely to cower with fright. She is so lucky to find a caring home and someone who will be there for her when she leaves to go with the angels. As a veterinary nurse I have been involved with putting animals to sleep, it is very peaceful and so reassuring for the animal when their mum or dad stays with them until the very end.
I would seek the advice of your Veterinary surgeon to help with Whispers kidneys. When I was a Veterinary nurse there was a special tinned dog food for kidney problems. Usually kidney problems are helped with drinking water and no rich food. Symptoms including drinking and urinating alot with bad breath and the fur sticks up more. Always go with what your verterinary surgeon advises.

Q. What is Animal Communication?

A. This is where a person who has the gift of clarivoyance and can pick up spiritual messages which will help the animal. Some animal communicators use Reiki healing to connect to the horses energy so they can feel what issues the horse or other animal has. In all cases the animals Veterinary surgeon must be contacted prior to any therapy, this is a requirement by law. In my experience most Veterinary surgeons are accepting that Reiki and communication can be of benefit to the owner as well as the animal. Though Reiki healing is in no way a replacement of Veterinary treatment, it is used to compliment and help the animal mentally and spiritually. When I do animal communication I find the animal will show me pictures in my minds eye and give me feelings. I am helped with having animal spirit guides who help me as well as my 'usual' human spirit guides. The old fashioned name for animal communication in horses is a horse whisperer, ancient south American Indians were able to do this to help them with wild horses.

Q. How can I help our sad and lonely dog? My son has gone to college, this is his first year. He is not close enough to come home on weekends. He has left behind his dog named Sam. Sam is very unhappy and seems to be losing weight. I am concerned that this behavior will eventually lead to a very sick dog. What can I do to raise the dog's spirits and give him his energy back?

A. I would suggest a number of things to try, see if a neighbour has a dog that Sam can play with, so he keeps himself occupied. Ask your son to do a video tape or recording of his voice, even on the phone. Sam is unable to understand that your son has gone away to college and may even think something has happened to your son and he may not be coming back. Dogs are very affectionate and grieve like we do when some one leaves, just like us we need something or someone to take our minds off it. Play with Sam and take him for long walks, get involved with local dog class, may even try dog agility, both you and Sam make new friends. Reiki healing will help him relax, though you must check with Sam's Veterinary Surgeon first before doing this. Keep yourself motivated, Sam will be picking up on your sadness with your son leaving, so keep happy and have fun with Sam.

Q. Can an Animal Communicator help me find my lost cat?

A. Yes maybe an animal communicator or psychic might be able to tune into the angels and animal spirit guides to help find your cat. Though be sure to find someone that a friend recommends and are genuine and do not be disappointed if they can not give you any information. I would first ask neighbours to check their garden sheds and put notes through peoples doors and shop windows. Cats as we all know are curious and will find a nice cosy place to sleep. Check with your Veterinary surgeon if anyone has found a lost cat. When you do find her I would suggest having her micro chipped so if she goes on walk about again she be easier to find if a person takes her to the Vets and they scan her.

Q. My dog Molly sufferers terribly from seperation anxiety. I only have to leave the house for half an hour, and when I return my neighbours say she howls constantly. She is in a state, panting, anxious, wimpering etc and if I need to leave her for longer than 1 hour I come back to a wrecked house!!! Please help!

A. This is a difficult situation and will take time, you will need patience and possible professional help from an animal behavourist, your Vets may know of someone. I would try leaving the television on or a video of you talking to her. Gradually leave her for short periods with a cardigan or jumper which you have worn, so she also has your smell. You could try shutting the door when your in the other room, so she knows you are there in the house but you are still seperate. When you are in the garden hanging the washing out or gardening, leave her sut in the kitchen so she knows you are close, but again seperate. Reiki healing will certainly help a nervous animal just like it does with people who are anxious, though you must ask your vet first. As a last resort until you have professional help and you have to go out for long period your Veterinary surgeon can prescribe mild sedatives.
